7:30 PM - 9:30 PM    Recreation Adult Basketball (Pick Up League) - Adult League Basketball
Our Adult Basketball league gives our community an opportunity play with their friends and colleagues in a controlled, indoor atmosphere. Each week teams will switch off wearing dark and light colored shirts. The program is a “pick up” league structure with no referees. Grab some friends and sign up today!NO Basketball on 10/21 due to a previously scheduled event.

2:30 PM - 3:30 PM    Stoughton Leadership Institute - Stoughton Leadership Institute
SLI members should attend workshops every week on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30. Members who want to participate in the Mentoring program will attend those workshops as well.  All workshops will be at Stoughton High School unless otherwise scheduled for a zoom meeting Maia will hold office hours on in which members have to check in at least once a semester. Members are responsible for letting Maia know if they are not going to a meeting/workshop. As COVID-19 permits, attend 3 leadership events throughout the year. Description: Join us for an exploratory art class where children ages 2-4 can get messy and have fun! Children will explore painting, color mixing, drawing, fine motor skills and more. A parent or guardian is welcome to join in the fun or stay close by but this is not a drop off program and parents must remain in the building. Paints are washable with soap and warm water but children should wear clothes that can get messy  Instructor: Rec staff Dates: 3/3, 3/10, 3/17, 3/24, 3/31, 4/7 Please note: Participants may be eligible for a refund or account credit on a case by case basis prior to the first day of class. If we do not meet the registration minimum, the program will be canceled and you will be notified by email.

Digital Animation: Empower your Creativity with Tinker & Create Basics of Animation Course: Bringing Drawings to LifeFrom structure to conceptual design to movement of drawings and graphics, this course will explore the fundamental skills necessary for any young artist, animator, or game concept designer. With pencils, paper, The Blender animation platform and plenty of imagination, students will learn how to bring an idea to life. Animators are sometimes called “actors with a pencil” with that in mind, students will be encouraged to tap into their creative instincts to write, create, and direct an animated short! In designing their characters and worlds, these young directors will also learn how to be aware of forces acting upon objects, how to render lines of action, and start to think in a three-dimensional way. From animation principles such as persistence of vision, walk-cycles, and physics – to film basics including scene-blocking and editing basics – we will try to cover as many topics as possible to give students a grounding in design, film, and animation.

Kids will receive a guided lesson at the beginning of each session and then have the remainder of the class to experiment with the materials. Please wear clothes that can get messy. Instructor: Rec staffPlease note: Participants may be eligible for a refund or account credit on a case by case basis prior to the first day of class. Join Molly and Matt from the Stoughton Recreation Department as you prepare creative works of culinary art. Come learn to create one of a kind items for all to enjoy - social distance style!This class is inside the Recreation Center at 15 Pleasant St.We will never use any peanut or tree-nut products, but eggs, dairy and gluten will be used. Please email us at recreation@stoughton-ma.gov with questions regarding food allergies. Please note: due to limiting group size, these are drop off programs. Parents are welcome to stay nearby in our parking lot. Masks are encouraged

Join Mass Audubon’s Museum of American Bird Art as we adventure into the woods to search for some of our favorite backyard owls. Learn some owling tips, look closely for owl pellets, learn about owl ecology and make your own owl nest and owl out of natural materials in the forest! Bring your camera and photography equipment for some added fun! Anyone staying for the program MUST be individually registered (this includes parents, siblings, grandparents, etc.)
