Pre-Playground is much more structured program, led by counselors that focus on the creativity and playfulness of children registered. PLEASE NOTE: PROGRAM TIME IS 8:30AM - 4:00PM. WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE ERROR IN THE PRINTED BROCHURE. Stoughton Recreation’s Open playground embraces and encourages the idea of free play, in a supervised environment. The South School boasts a unique campus giving us access to basketball/street hockey courts, a large playground, field space, and a baseball diamond. Unlike most summer programs, Open Playground does not follow a strictly regimented day to day schedule. Our program offers extensive selections of activities to participate in including, but not limited to, organized and free form sports games, arts and crafts instruction, special events and on-site entertainers. We will also be offering field trips each week on a pay as you go basis. Registration for each field trip is done at the beginning of each session. Open Playground is led by a group of highly skilled and trained staff in coordination with and under the supervision of the Stoughton Recreation Department. All staff receives training addressing all aspects and scenarios of our summer program, and how to handle difficult situations professionally. Lessons are 45 minutes for school-age children and adults, and 30 minutes for pre-school age. Lessons take place Monday through Friday at 10AM and 11AM. Swim team for advanced students will take place at 12PM. Swim team is at no extra cost. If interested, please check off your interest during registration of your Level 4/5 swimmerEach Swim Lesson Registration comes with a Season pass to the Ames Pond Beachfront!First-time swimmer? Not sure what level you are in? Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices.(Most cellphones will work) Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. This is a great way to explore the outdoors with the whole family!How to start: Register for a FREE Basic Membership at www.geocaching.com Visit the "Hide & Seek a Cache" page. Enter your postal code and click "search." Choose any geocache from the list and click on its name. Enter the coordinates of the geocache into your GPS Device. Use your GPS device to assist you in finding the hidden geocache. Sign the logbook and return the geocache to its original location. Rules of Geocaching:  If you take something from the geocache (container), leave something of equal or greater value. The South School boasts a unique campus giving us access to basketball/street hockey courts, a large playground, field space, and a baseball diamond. Unlike most summer programs, Open Playground does not follow a strictly regimented day to day schedule. Our program offers extensive selections of activities to participate in including, but not limited to, organized and free form sports games, arts and crafts instruction, special events and on-site entertainers. We will also be offering field trips each week on a pay as you go basis. Registration for each field trip is done at the beginning of each session. Open Playground is led by a group of highly skilled and trained staff in coordination with and under the supervision of the Stoughton Recreation Department. All staff receives training addressing all aspects and scenarios of our summer program, and how to handle difficult situations professionally. The South School boasts a unique campus giving us access to basketball/street hockey courts, a large playground, field space, and a baseball diamond. Unlike most summer programs, Open Playground does not follow a strictly regimented day to day schedule. Our program offers extensive selections of activities to participate in including, but not limited to, organized and free form sports games, arts and crafts instruction, special events and on-site entertainers. We will also be offering field trips each week on a pay as you go basis. Registration for each field trip is done at the beginning of each session. Open Playground is led by a group of highly skilled and trained staff in coordination with and under the supervision of the Stoughton Recreation Department. All staff receives training addressing all aspects and scenarios of our summer program, and how to handle difficult situations professionally. What is Geocaching? Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices.(Most cellphones will work) Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. This is a great way to explore the outdoors with the whole family!How to start: Register for a FREE Basic Membership at www.geocaching.com Visit the "Hide & Seek a Cache" page. Enter your postal code and click "search." Choose any geocache from the list and click on its name. Enter the coordinates of the geocache into your GPS Device. Use your GPS device to assist you in finding the hidden geocache. Sign the logbook and return the geocache to its original location. Rules of Geocaching:  If you take something from the geocache (container), leave something of equal or greater value. The South School boasts a unique campus giving us access to basketball/street hockey courts, a large playground, field space, and a baseball diamond. Unlike most summer programs, Open Playground does not follow a strictly regimented day to day schedule. Our program offers extensive selections of activities to participate in including, but not limited to, organized and free form sports games, arts and crafts instruction, special events and on-site entertainers. We will also be offering field trips each week on a pay as you go basis. Registration for each field trip is done at the beginning of each session. Open Playground is led by a group of highly skilled and trained staff in coordination with and under the supervision of the Stoughton Recreation Department. All staff receives training addressing all aspects and scenarios of our summer program, and how to handle difficult situations professionally. The Norfolk County DA and Stoughton Recreation present a summer clinic for young boys and girls in grades 3 through 8 to obtain both basketball and life skills. The clinic will be coached by distinguished high school coaches and athletes. Proper clothing is required and participants are welcome to bring their own basketball, but are not required to. Spaces are limited.

The Norfolk County DA and Stoughton Recreation present a summer clinic for young boys and girls in grades 3 through 8 to obtain both basketball and life skills. The clinic will be coached by distinguished high school coaches and athletes. Proper clothing is required and participants are welcome to bring their own basketball, but are not required to. Spaces are limited.

The South School boasts a unique campus giving us access to basketball/street hockey courts, a large playground, field space, and a baseball diamond. Unlike most summer programs, Open Playground does not follow a strictly regimented day to day schedule. Our program offers extensive selections of activities to participate in including, but not limited to, organized and free form sports games, arts and crafts instruction, special events and on-site entertainers. We will also be offering field trips each week on a pay as you go basis. Registration for each field trip is done at the beginning of each session. Open Playground is led by a group of highly skilled and trained staff in coordination with and under the supervision of the Stoughton Recreation Department. All staff receives training addressing all aspects and scenarios of our summer program, and how to handle difficult situations professionally. Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices.(Most cellphones will work) Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. This is a great way to explore the outdoors with the whole family!How to start: Register for a FREE Basic Membership at www.geocaching.com Visit the "Hide & Seek a Cache" page. Enter your postal code and click "search." Choose any geocache from the list and click on its name. Enter the coordinates of the geocache into your GPS Device. Use your GPS device to assist you in finding the hidden geocache. Sign the logbook and return the geocache to its original location. Rules of Geocaching:  If you take something from the geocache (container), leave something of equal or greater value. Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices.(Most cellphones will work) Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. This is a great way to explore the outdoors with the whole family!How to start: Register for a FREE Basic Membership at www.geocaching.com Visit the "Hide & Seek a Cache" page. Enter your postal code and click "search." Choose any geocache from the list and click on its name. Enter the coordinates of the geocache into your GPS Device. Use your GPS device to assist you in finding the hidden geocache. Sign the logbook and return the geocache to its original location. Rules of Geocaching:  If you take something from the geocache (container), leave something of equal or greater value. The South School boasts a unique campus giving us access to basketball/street hockey courts, a large playground, field space, and a baseball diamond. Unlike most summer programs, Open Playground does not follow a strictly regimented day to day schedule. Our program offers extensive selections of activities to participate in including, but not limited to, organized and free form sports games, arts and crafts instruction, special events and on-site entertainers. We will also be offering field trips each week on a pay as you go basis. Registration for each field trip is done at the beginning of each session. Open Playground is led by a group of highly skilled and trained staff in coordination with and under the supervision of the Stoughton Recreation Department. All staff receives training addressing all aspects and scenarios of our summer program, and how to handle difficult situations professionally. The South School boasts a unique campus giving us access to basketball/street hockey courts, a large playground, field space, and a baseball diamond. Unlike most summer programs, Open Playground does not follow a strictly regimented day to day schedule. Our program offers extensive selections of activities to participate in including, but not limited to, organized and free form sports games, arts and crafts instruction, special events and on-site entertainers. We will also be offering field trips each week on a pay as you go basis. Registration for each field trip is done at the beginning of each session. Open Playground is led by a group of highly skilled and trained staff in coordination with and under the supervision of the Stoughton Recreation Department. All staff receives training addressing all aspects and scenarios of our summer program, and how to handle difficult situations professionally. What is Geocaching? Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices.(Most cellphones will work) Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. This is a great way to explore the outdoors with the whole family!How to start: Register for a FREE Basic Membership at www.geocaching.com Visit the "Hide & Seek a Cache" page. Enter your postal code and click "search." Choose any geocache from the list and click on its name. Enter the coordinates of the geocache into your GPS Device. Use your GPS device to assist you in finding the hidden geocache. Sign the logbook and return the geocache to its original location. Rules of Geocaching:  If you take something from the geocache (container), leave something of equal or greater value. Write about your find in the cache logbook Feel free to post about your adventure to the Stoughton Recreation Facebook page or twitter account- @StoughtonMArec Have fun!  You will be able to find caches hidden at Halloran park & Bradley Lessa Memorial playground trails. The South School boasts a unique campus giving us access to basketball/street hockey courts, a large playground, field space, and a baseball diamond. Unlike most summer programs, Open Playground does not follow a strictly regimented day to day schedule. Our program offers extensive selections of activities to participate in including, but not limited to, organized and free form sports games, arts and crafts instruction, special events and on-site entertainers. We will also be offering field trips each week on a pay as you go basis. Registration for each field trip is done at the beginning of each session. Open Playground is led by a group of highly skilled and trained staff in coordination with and under the supervision of the Stoughton Recreation Department. All staff receives training addressing all aspects and scenarios of our summer program, and how to handle difficult situations professionally. What is Geocaching? Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices.(Most cellphones will work) Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. This is a great way to explore the outdoors with the whole family!How to start: Register for a FREE Basic Membership at www.geocaching.com Visit the "Hide & Seek a Cache" page. Enter your postal code and click "search." Choose any geocache from the list and click on its name. Enter the coordinates of the geocache into your GPS Device. Use your GPS device to assist you in finding the hidden geocache. Sign the logbook and return the geocache to its original location. Rules of Geocaching:  If you take something from the geocache (container), leave something of equal or greater value. Write about your find in the cache logbook Feel free to post about your adventure to the Stoughton Recreation Facebook page or twitter account- @StoughtonMArec Have fun!  You will be able to find caches hidden at Halloran park & Bradley Lessa Memorial playground trails. Please be mindful of your surroundings when searching and use caution.

PLEASE NOTE: PROGRAM TIME IS 8:30AM - 4:00PM. WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE ERROR IN THE PRINTED BROCHURE. Stoughton Recreation’s Open playground embraces and encourages the idea of free play, in a supervised environment. The South School boasts a unique campus giving us access to basketball/street hockey courts, a large playground, field space, and a baseball diamond. Unlike most summer programs, Open Playground does not follow a strictly regimented day to day schedule. Our program offers extensive selections of activities to participate in including, but not limited to, organized and free form sports games, arts and crafts instruction, special events and on-site entertainers. We will also be offering field trips each week on a pay as you go basis. Registration for each field trip is done at the beginning of each session. Open Playground is led by a group of highly skilled and trained staff in coordination with and under the supervision of the Stoughton Recreation Department. All staff receives training addressing all aspects and scenarios of our summer program, and how to handle difficult situations professionally. Join Cedar Hills’ Golf Pro Walter Parshley as you learn the basics of golf from putting to driving. This instructional clinic is open for all players or all abilities and is guaranteed to be a fun and relaxed environment. Players are welcome to bring their own clubs but there will be clubs to use on site. Spaces are limited!  All individuals registered will be receiving a custom Stoughton Recreation Golf Towel.

Lessons are 45 minutes for school-age children and adults, and 30 minutes for pre-school age. Lessons take place Monday through Friday at 10AM and 11AM. The Recreation Department will be sponsoring a bus that will transport your summer student to the Open Playground program to participate in and enjoy recreation activities when their school day is done. This program will also include a full day registration for Fridays (8:30-4:00) to cover your childcare needs. This program will not partake in field trips due to their time arrival.NOTE: PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PICK UP AT THE END OF THE PLAYGROUND PROGRAM AT THE SOUTH SCHOOL. THERE WILL BE NO RETURN TRANSPORTATION.
