NEW!! Introducing Teen Extreme: a summer program tailored just for students entering grades 7-10. Join us for a blend of field trips and recreational games designed to make your summer memorable. Explore local attractions, engage in friendly games, and enjoy a variety of activities with peers. Teen Extreme will also offer CIT-like opportunities for kids interested in becoming a counselor. Teen Extreme is a fun and engaging way to spend your summer break!

There will be 2-3 field trips each week, all trips included in the price. Trips may include: Water Wizz, Xtreme Craze, Ames Pond, Castle Island, Urban Air Adventure Park, Bowling, Level 99, and more!

Teen Extreme will run from 7/1/2024-8/9/2024 (closed 7/4 and 7/5)  from 8:30 am-2:30 pm. There is no extended day option. You can sign up weekly or for the whole summer.

There are no make-ups or refunds due to unforeseen cancellations of trips such as weather. Trips are included in the price of the program.

Participants should come each day wearing sunscreen and sneakers, and pack a nut-free snack, lunch, water, and extra sunscreen. There will also be days when participants are asked to wear their bathing suit to camp and bring a towel as well as sandals/change of shoes.

Program alerts can be found on www.stoughtonrec.org, email from Stoughton Rec, and the Stoughton Recreation Facebook page

We are excited to welcome you and your teen to our Teen Summer Program! This outlines behavior expectations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. You MUST review it with your teen before the program begins:

Attendance: Arrive on time for program sessions and activities. Inform program staff beforehand if your child will be absent, tardy or picked up early. Please note that the Recreation Department cannot be held responsible if participants arrive late and miss the bus. If your teenager is to be picked up in any non-standard manner (e.g., walking home, going home with a friend, visiting the library, remaining on-site after a field trip), written permission must be provided to the program director.

Respect Others: Treat all participants, staff, and volunteers with kindness and respect. Bullying, teasing, or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated and the Recreation Department follows the Stoughton Public Schools bullying policy.

Safety First: Prioritize safety at all times. Follow safety rules and guidelines provided by program staff, especially during outdoor activities and field trips. Jeopardizing safety may result in dismissal from the program.

Communication: Encourage open communication with program staff. If your teen has any questions, concerns, or needs assistance, they should feel comfortable approaching a staff member.

No Drugs or Alcohol: The use of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited during the program. This includes tobacco and vaping products. Participants found with drugs or alcohol on their person will face immediate consequences, including possible expulsion from the program. Additionally, appropriate authorities may be notified. It is the responsibility of participants to adhere to this policy for the safety and well-being of all involved.

Dress Code: Dress appropriately for program activities, including outdoor excursions. Closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing are recommended.

Cell Phone Policy: Cell phones may be allowed during designated times or for specific purposes, as determined by program staff. Otherwise, cell phones should be kept off or on silent mode. We want your kids socializing and having fun! Photos and videos should not be taken of minors without their consent.

Consequences: Continued or serious violations may result in temporary removal from activities or dismissal from the program. In cases of severe misconduct or safety concerns, parents/guardians will be contacted immediately.

Please note: Refunds or credits will not be issued within 24 business hours of the program start time, and programs will not be pro-rated for missed classes. Participants may be eligible for a refund or account credit on a case by case basis prior to the first day of a program and is not guaranteed. Any approved cancellations resulting in a refund will incur a 5% cancellation fee, unless the cancellation of the program is initiated by the Recreation Department. In the event that the minimum registration requirement is not met, the program will be canceled. In such instances, participants will receive a full refund, and notification of the cancellation will be sent via email.
